Join us for the second Moonlight Madness trail run for 2011, 

choose from 5k, 10k and half marathon distances.

This is our big Moonlight event every year, in 2010 we had 125 show up and we expect the same this year. These are beautiful trails, mainly singletrack mountain biking trails though the 1/2 marathon course does utilize some dirt roads/powerline roads. All are well-defined but these are not paths, they are not paved, there are no streetlights nor other lighting besides the full moon we hope will be out in full force to provide some illumination. That being said, headlamps ARE required for this event as it can get pretty dark out there in the desert.  For this nighttime race the trails will be well marked with reflective markers every 100 M or so, your headlamp will be able to pick them out from a great distance away. 

We have a very firm belief that true trail runners are explorers at heart, and minimalists in many ways.  Our aid stations are at the half-way point of the 10K and half distances, and they are self-serve.  BRING A HYDRATION SYSTEM.  There will NOT be people out on the course to hand you little cups of water every 2 miles.  There will be plenty of Hammer nutrition products for you, and lots of sweets and salty snacks and fruit. 

Don't forget, Desert Dash is a huge fan of The German Shepherd Rescue Las Vegas. Our very own sweet mascot, Century, came from the rescue. We collect dog food donations and/or monetary donations at all of our events if you wish to donate. GSRLV and Desert Dash thank you!

PACKET PICKUP:

Red Rock Running Company will host packet pickup from 1p to 5p on Friday, May 13th. Please make sure to take a look around the store for any last minute items you might need for our race or anything on your wish list for future running adventures. They've got all your running necessities and will treat you right! 

Packet pickup will be available onsite on race day beginning at 5:30p.

Registration prices are listed below.. and not only do they include an awesome time for you as you run wild through the desert darkness under the light of a full moon but you will also receive a very cool, very unique Desert Dash medal and a Desert Dash tech shirt. (We get a kick out of having random drawings as well, so make sure to check onsite race day to see if you might be the recipient of a sweet little prize.)

The 5k course is the little loop on the right. The 10k course will be the 5k loop twice.  

The half marathon course is the big loop on the left, followed by the 5k loop. (The half marathon course distance comes out to about 12 miles, a tad shy of 1/2 marathon distance but after running it at night, you will thank us!)
