MM 2020 Course Map High Level.jpg

The Moonlight Madness course has been adjusted for 2020 to avoid areas that were affected by the Cottonwood fire. Therefore, this year we'll send you out for some fun on the north side of Cottonwood!

Check out the detailed course maps on MapMyRun or CalTopo below!

Half Marathon

The Half Marathon this year will start in the same location as 2018 and 2019. However, this year we'll avoid some of the burned areas on the south side of Cottonwood by continuing north underneath Hwy-160 to hookup with Late Night. After making a right and heading a half mile you'll make a left on Mustang and bomb down some super buttery single track before hooking up with Inner Loop and eventually Black Velvet Aid Station. After leaving the Aid Station, you'll continue on Inner Loop to connect with Land Mine. You'll make a right on Land Mine and start making your way southeast before heading directly south along Ducky Tree and reconnecting with Mustang Loop. A few more steps up Mustang will drop you at Late Night Aid Station. From here you'll cross underneath HWY-160 for a second time and climb to the top of Badger Pass before descending down some steeps through Red Valley for a fast finish at the Red Valley parking lot!

Aid Stations

This year will have 3 aid stations to keep you moving:

Red Valley Aid Station - Located at the start/finish area, this aid station will hook you up with the goods before you start your race and also when you get back underneath the lights following your race

Black Velvet Aid Station - Just before mile 4 will be your second aid station. Black Velvet aid will be located on the northeast corner of Black Velvet Rd and Inner Loop Trail

Late Night Aid Station - At just 5 miles from Black Velvet will be Late Night aid. Our excellent volunteers will hook you up with everything you need for your last 4 miles to the finish line

All of our aid stations will be staffed by fully protected volunteers. All aid station volunteers will be wearing masks and gloves to ensure everyone's safety out on the course. We ask that participants limit their contact with the aid station area by letting our great volunteers come to you for all your needs. Aid stations will be packed full of ice cold water, energy drink, candy, various fruits & vegetables, quesadillas, & something unique provided by the volunteer captain at each aid station.

Directions from Blue Diamond and I-15: Take the Blue Diamond exit from I-15 and west toward Pahrump. Follow Blue Diamond until you see Late Night trail head on the right hand side. You will pass this trail head and make your first left on Cottonwood Pass Rd (you'll see a dirt parking lot and pit toilets as you enter). Follow this dirt road until instructed by a volunteer on where to park. We typically park cars by turning you around to face the opposite direction you came in and parking you along the side of Cottonwood Pass Rd.
